Your pain is real. So is your capacity to heal.
Chronic pain can drain not only your energy, but your hope. Too often, real solutions remain elusive, no matter how many practitioners you’ve seen or treatments you’ve tried. But research is now revealing that a common cause has been consistently overlooked.

The latest neuroscience shows that many forms of chronic pain and symptoms come from overprotective and maladapted patterns in the brain and nervous system. And the good news is that these patterns can be changed.

This type of pain goes by many names: neuroplastic pain, nociplastic pain, neural circuit pain, primary pain, TMS, or mind-body pain. All of these terms point to the same root cause in the brain and nervous system. By using noninvasive, accessible methods to retrain pain signaling and pathways, more and more people are finding their way out of chronic pain.

So let’s be clear: it’s not “all in your head,” and it never was. But what is true is that you hold the natural ability to unlearn and unwind those pain pathways. We all do. This goes beyond pain management, tapping into the very system that went awry and redirecting it toward lasting recovery.
What if your symptoms weren't an obstacle ...

... but an invitation?

To learn how to establish greater balance, or to cultivate a sense of safety within yourself. Or maybe to deepen your relationship with rest, emotions, boundaries, uncertainty, or self-compassion.
Whatever it may be, together we explore what uniquely supports you to naturally rewire your way to well-being and freedom from chronic pain and symptoms. After all, like learning anything new, change becomes easier and more effective with compassionate support and a clear map.

Hi, I'm Sara.
Chronic Pain Recovery Coach | Certified iRest Teacher

Like many who do this work, I came to it through lived experience. For years, I felt disconnected from my body, from my life, and from a sense of purpose and belonging.

When chronic symptoms began to build alongside everything else, I knew I needed to dig deeper. While it took time to untangle the patterns underneath, it taught me how to listen inward, how to come home to myself, and how to trust the deeper intelligence of the body, emotions, and nervous system.

Along the way, I earned a Master’s degree in Integrative Health Studies, became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and completed the Freedom From Chronic Pain practitioner training as well as advanced certification as an iRest Yoga Nidra meditation teacher.

Today, I support others through their pain recovery process and the self-discovery that unfolds along the way.

— Alan Gordon, LCSW, with Alon Ziv, The Way Out

Is this for you?
This process may be a good fit if:
-
You’ve tried just about everything and nothing has worked, at least not for long, or as much as you hoped.
- Your symptoms seem to flare with stress, emotion, certain situations or times of day, or they seem to have little rhyme or reason.
- You have or have had more than one persistent symptom, such as back or neck pain, migraines, IBS, pelvic pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, CRPS, or other symptoms that last longer than expected, whether or not the initial cause is clear.
- You have enough clarity regarding potential physical issues that it makes sense to explore what else might be going on.
-
You’re open to exploring how emotions, thoughts, and behavior patterns can contribute to the expression of pain in the body.
